Cool Personal Homepages #19

I really like personal homepages and have quite a list of them bookmarked. I'll post one every week unless I fall behind this schedule. 😉 So here's Cool Personal Homepages #CPH Vol. 19: caryo.space

Have you met.. termshark?

Have you met.. termshark? It's a "wireshark-inspired tui for tshark" and it really rocks! Instead of transferring pcaps to gui systems, I now just scp them to my vps and examine them there with termshark. It's super intuitive.. I just love it.

1990s PC to go

A friend texted me today that this is standing on the street around the corner, I called my wife and she immediately left the house to pick it up. I'm just.. 💕 okay? 😅

My first Linux distribution

I'm yast installing the first Linux distro I've ever used; SuSE Linux 6.0. It took me a week to get X running back then on my 14' CRT. Really exited to see how this works out now.. Please make sure that CD number 3 is in your drive! ..and "Have a lot of fun..."

Text-based distributed monitoring

Is there any text-based, ideally distributed monitoring software out there? I want a TUI that shows me (e.g. with green/red highlights) the reachability of hosts (simple ping checks) while I'm doing network maintenance. Like a really simple, curses based nagios? It would probably look like a bloomberg terminal.. (I know this wouldn't be too hard to implement.. but I can't believe it's not already out there...)

Away from keyboard

At work we've just begun migrating a few thousand workloads to a new datacenter facility and besides that I'm barely using computers right now. These time-outs just come and go. Meanwhile I leased a 500m² garden and cheerfully dig into this shit. And of course the roof of the summer house there is leaky.. 😉 So.. don't mind me not reacting to your comments and new followings, I'm just outside wearing my straw hat! 🙃
